Ultracem has expanded its presence in Guatemala's construction industry with the launch of a new concrete division, introducing advanced production capabilities designed to support residential, infrastructure, industrial, and commercial projects while strengthening its portfolio of integrated construction solutions.

New production plant brings advanced technology to the market

As part of its expansion strategy, Cementos Ultracem officially inaugurated a new concrete production plant located in Zone 12 of Guatemala City.

The facility incorporates modern production technology, real-time monitoring systems, and comprehensive quality control processes aimed at improving operational efficiency, optimizing resource use, reducing material waste, and ensuring consistent product quality.

With an estimated production capacity of 15,000 cubic meters of concrete per month, the new operation will serve projects throughout Guatemala City and its metropolitan area.

According to Ismael Ballestas, Country Manager for Cementos Ultracem Guatemala, the new division represents an important milestone in the company's long-term growth strategy.

"The launch of our concrete division marks a key step in the evolution of Cementos Ultracem. We are expanding our portfolio to offer integrated solutions that respond to the current needs of the construction sector, backed by the technical expertise and quality that define our company," he said.

The company noted that automation and continuous monitoring strengthen quality assurance and traceability, two elements that have become increasingly important for modern construction projects focused on efficiency and responsible resource management.

High-performance concrete designed for large-scale projects

The sustained growth of Guatemala's construction industry, particularly in the housing and infrastructure segments, has increased demand for materials that deliver higher strength, durability, and performance.

To address these requirements, Cementos Ultracem introduced high-performance concrete products with compressive strengths exceeding 10,000 PSI, manufactured under internationally recognized standards and tightly controlled production processes.

The company stated that these solutions are designed to improve project execution by reducing construction errors, increasing productivity, and helping optimize construction timelines.

Beyond supplying construction materials, Ultracem will also provide technical consulting and project support throughout each stage of construction to help customers improve planning and execution.

Jairo Niño, Commercial Director of Cementos Ultracem Guatemala, emphasized the company's broader approach.

"Beyond offering a product, we provide comprehensive technical support that enables our customers to optimize their projects, reduce risks, and achieve high-quality results. We want to become a strategic partner in the growth of Guatemala's construction sector," he said.

Supporting a more competitive and sustainable construction industry

The company's expansion into the concrete segment represents another step toward increasing the availability of advanced construction technologies in Guatemala.

According to Ultracem, the new operation is intended to support more efficient and competitive construction projects while aligning with global sustainability trends through improved production processes and optimized resource management.

During its first year of operations, the company expects to progressively expand its presence in the market by strengthening partnerships with developers, engineers, contractors, and other organizations across the construction industry.

With the launch of its new concrete plant, Cementos Ultracem reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to Guatemala's development through innovation, product quality, technical expertise, and solutions designed to support the future growth of the country's construction sector.
