Mente en Marcha 2026 Returns to Guatemala to Raise Awareness for Mental Health
Mente en Marcha 2026 returns to Guatemala on October 11 to raise awareness and funds for ADEFAGUA’s mental health programs.
Mente en Marcha 2026 will bring together runners, families, companies and organizations in Guatemala for its third charity race, an initiative designed to raise awareness about mental health while generating funds for psychological care and support programs.
The event, organized by the Asociación para el Desarrollo de la Familia Guatemalteca (ADEFAGUA), will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at Ciudad Cayalá, Plaza Valparaíso, starting at 7:00 a.m.
A Race With a Mental Health Purpose
The charity race seeks to combine physical activity with a broader conversation about emotional well-being and the importance of caring for mental health.
Participants will be able to choose between 3K and 5K categories, becoming part of an event that promotes community, solidarity and awareness around mental health.
Through Mente en Marcha, ADEFAGUA aims to demonstrate that talking about mental health can also be a way to care for and strengthen the community.
Funds to Support Psychological Care
Beyond the sporting activity, the event has a fundraising objective. The funds generated through Mente en Marcha will help strengthen ADEFAGUA's psychological care and support programs for individuals and families experiencing vulnerable situations.
The previous edition demonstrated the impact that the initiative can generate. Funds raised during the event made it possible to provide 240 psychological care sessions to people facing challenges related to anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, suicide prevention and other difficulties affecting their emotional well-being.
For the 2026 edition, ADEFAGUA seeks to expand that impact and continue making accessible mental health services available to more people.
Bringing the Community Together
Mente en Marcha brings together different sectors of the community, including runners, families, businesses, organizations and people committed to the well-being of Guatemala's population.
The event uses physical activity as a space for connection and solidarity while encouraging conversations around mental health.
With the third edition, ADEFAGUA continues its efforts to create greater awareness of emotional well-being and the importance of accessible psychological support.
