Approaching the Future 2026 analyzes business priorities across Latin America
The eleventh edition of Approaching the Future 2026 gathered insights from more than 1,400 professionals across Latin America, including 140 representatives from Guatemala.
The research identifies the issues receiving the greatest attention from organizations and examines how companies are adapting their strategies to respond to an evolving business environment.
According to Clara Fontán, Director of Operations & Intelligence at Corporate Excellence – Centre for Reputation Leadership, the value of the report lies in identifying the trends that will shape the corporate agenda and comparing them with the resources and efforts organizations dedicate to those priorities.
"The report helps organizations identify future trends, recognize opportunities, and strengthen their ability to anticipate and manage intangible assets," Fontán explained.

Guatemala reflects regional priorities while emphasizing reputation
The findings indicate that Guatemala's corporate agenda is closely aligned with trends observed throughout Latin America.
Across the region, artificial intelligence continues to gain relevance as one of the leading business priorities. In Guatemala, however, organizations place greater emphasis on corporate reputation, organizational purpose, and responsible leadership.
Central America focuses on reputation, sustainability, and AI

The report also provides an overview of Central America and the Caribbean, where reputation and reputational risk remain the most strategic areas for organizations.
Sustainability, corporate communication, and artificial intelligence also emerge as increasingly important priorities for businesses across the region.
At the Latin American level, the study highlights artificial intelligence as one of the most influential factors shaping organizations. It also notes that communication, responsible leadership, corporate purpose, sustainability, and talent management are no longer treated as separate initiatives but are increasingly integrated into broader business strategies.
