Ferretería EPA Supports Venezuelan Communities Affected by Recent Earthquakes
Ferretería EPA transfers $75,000 to CADENA, UNICEF and Sun.Risas to support communities affected by recent earthquakes in Venezuela.
Ferretería EPA has made the first three transfers from its “Helping Is Simple” campaign, allocating US$25,000 each to three organizations supporting communities affected by the recent earthquakes in Venezuela.
The funds were made possible through voluntary contributions from customers at EPA stores in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Venezuela, as well as donations received through the company’s website and bank transfers.
The first beneficiaries are CADENA Humanitarian Aid in Disasters and Crises, UNICEF and Sun.Risas, a nonprofit organization focused on social assistance and support for vulnerable communities.
Donations Target Urgent Humanitarian Needs
The allocation of the funds reflects EPA’s commitment to directing donations toward organizations with proven experience in humanitarian response and the capacity to act immediately.
CADENA will use its donation to strengthen assistance for approximately 600 displaced families who remain in temporary shelters in Brisas de Maiquetía, La Guaira, after their homes were affected.
The intervention will provide access to drinking water, kitchen kits, reinforced temporary shelters, food and basic supplies, as well as safe spaces and psychosocial support for 290 children and adolescents.
The organization will also prioritize assistance for 250 older adults, 100 people with disabilities and 60 pregnant women.
UNICEF and Sun.Risas to Support Communities
UNICEF will direct its funds toward interventions focused on water, sanitation and hygiene, health, nutrition, child protection and education.
Meanwhile, the funds allocated to Sun.Risas will be used to purchase supplies required for the preparation, packaging and distribution of approximately 15,000 meals for people affected by the disaster and rescue teams.
The donation will also cover the logistics needed to ensure that the meals are delivered safely and on time.

“Our Customers’ Solidarity Is Translating Into Concrete Aid”
David Rodríguez, Personnel Manager at Ferretería EPA Venezuela, highlighted the impact of the contributions made through the campaign.
“The solidarity of our customers is translating into concrete aid for thousands of people. These first donations make it possible to address urgent needs such as water, food, shelter, health and child protection.”
