Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation announced a leadership transition within its Board of Directors as part of its institutional governance and continuity strategy. Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez officially assumed the presidency of the Foundation this Monday, marking the beginning of a new phase focused on strengthening the organization’s long-term social impact.

The transition closes the leadership cycle of Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, whose tenure was characterized by institutional consolidation, operational growth, and the expansion of the Foundation’s social programs.

A Leadership Transition Focused on Continuity

Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation, the social arm of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), stated that the succession process was planned as part of its governance structure to ensure leadership renewal while preserving the consistency of its institutional mission.

Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez assumes the role with the objective of continuing the Foundation’s current strategy, centered on measurable results and sustainable development.

His administration will focus on expanding the reach of the Foundation’s social initiatives while maintaining the values that have historically guided both CMI and its philanthropic work.

It is an honor to assume the presidency of Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez —our social arm and CMI’s vehicle of gratitude toward society— an institution that embodies CMI’s social commitment,” said Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez, president of the Foundation and chairman of CMI Capital.

He also acknowledged the work carried out by Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga during his presidency.

I thank Juan José for his vision and dedication, which allow me to receive today a Foundation with programs that generate a real and sustained impact in the lives of thousands of people,” he added.

Institutional Growth During Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga’s Presidency

During the leadership of Juan José Gutiérrez Mayorga, the Foundation strengthened its operational capabilities, broadened its social coverage, and established strategic partnerships that helped increase its impact across multiple communities.

The organization highlighted that this period contributed to reinforcing the Foundation’s institutional structure and consolidating programs designed to create long-term social transformation.

Gutiérrez Mayorga will remain linked to the institution as vice president and member of the Board of Directors, supporting continuity throughout this new stage.

Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez is an integral part of who we are as a family and as a family business,” said Gutiérrez Mayorga. “Handing over the presidency at this moment —with stronger institutional capacity, consolidated programs, and alliances that amplify its impact— is a source of deep satisfaction and gratitude. This process responds to the governance model we have established to ensure continuity while continuing to build the comprehensive development of the communities where we operate.

More Than 40 Years of Social Impact

Juan Bautista Gutiérrez Foundation was created as part of Corporación Multi Inversiones’ social commitment and has focused its efforts on promoting sustainable development opportunities in areas such as education, nutrition, and community strengthening.

For more than four decades, the Foundation has worked in Guatemala and Honduras alongside founding families, strategic allies, CMI, and collaborators to develop programs aimed at breaking cycles of poverty and expanding opportunities for vulnerable populations.

Its initiatives have historically emphasized long-term impact through projects designed to generate measurable and sustainable improvements within communities.

The Future of Corporate Foundations in the Region

The leadership transition also reflects a broader evolution among corporate foundations in Latin America, where organizations are increasingly adopting professional governance structures and succession models to ensure the continuity of their social impact.

With this new stage, Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez reaffirmed its commitment to “fulfilling dreams, transforming lives, and generating sustainable development” in the communities where it operates.

The organization indicated that maintaining institutional continuity while strengthening its social programs will remain a central priority under Felipe Bosch Gutiérrez’s leadership.
