Carrera Fundecán Salvavidas 2026 Returns to Raise Funds for Breast Cancer Treatment in Guatemala
Carrera Fundecán Salvavidas 2026 will take place on July 26 in Guatemala, raising funds for radiotherapy treatments for women with breast cancer.
Carrera Fundecán Salvavidas 2026 will bring together families, runners, breast cancer survivors, and supporters across Guatemala on July 26 for a fundraising event dedicated to helping women with limited financial resources access radiotherapy treatment.
Organized by Fundación Amigos Contra el Cáncer (Fundecán) with the support of Agua Pura Salvavidas, the race marks its 14th edition under the campaign message, "Your Fight Is Also My Fight, Your Participation Saves Lives."
A Race Focused on Hope and Solidarity
Since its launch in 2013, the Carrera Fundecán Salvavidas has grown into one of Guatemala's most recognized charitable sporting events.
This year's race will begin at 7:30 a.m. along Avenida Reforma, with both the starting point and finish line located at 12th Street. The event seeks to raise funds that will provide radiotherapy treatments for women facing breast cancer who cannot afford the care they need.
According to Isabel Herbruger, President of Fundecán, every participant contributes directly to that mission.
"Every step we take in this race represents hope for hundreds of women facing breast cancer. We invite all Guatemalans to join us because their participation can make a real difference in someone else's life," she said.

An Inclusive Event for the Entire Family
The organizers designed the event to welcome participants of all ages and fitness levels, from children and families to experienced runners.
Registration costs Q100 and includes a race kit featuring a T-shirt, cap, backpack, hydration, products provided by sponsors, and a finisher's medal.
Participants may complete their registration through the official online registration link, by using Convenio 3423 at Banco Industrial under the name Carrera Fundecán, through a bank deposit or transfer to Fundecán's account, or by contacting the organization's office directly at 5856-6928 or 5184-9074.
More Than a Race
Beyond the running course, attendees will enjoy a community-focused experience featuring school marching bands, hydration stations, photo opportunities, and motivational activities throughout the route.
The event is intended not only to encourage physical activity but also to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of supporting women throughout their treatment journey.
Federico Engel, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at Agua Pura Salvavidas, emphasized the company's long-standing commitment to the initiative.
"Agua Pura Salvavidas is a brand committed to life and to Guatemala. We firmly believe that promoting awareness about breast self-examinations and supporting initiatives like this is essential to saving lives," he said.

Running for a Cause That Saves Lives

By combining community participation with fundraising, the 14th edition of Carrera Fundecán Salvavidas continues its mission of turning every kilometer into an opportunity to provide hope and access to life-saving treatment.
