Banco Industrial Adds Debit Card Payments to Its Foreign Currency Services

Banco Industrial has introduced a new functionality that allows customers to purchase foreign currency in cash using a POS terminal and debit cards issued by any institution within Guatemala’s financial system. The service is available at the bank’s Multicurrency and Premium Bi branches, without requiring customers to hold an account with Banco Industrial.

How to Buy Foreign Currency With a Debit Card

The new functionality is available at 37 Multicurrency Branches and 7 Premium Bi Branches operated by Banco Industrial.

To complete the transaction, customers must present their Personal Identification Document (DPI), request the foreign currency they need and make the payment through a POS terminal using a debit card from any bank within Guatemala’s financial system.

Once the transaction is completed, the customer receives the requested foreign currency in cash.

People who are not Banco Industrial customers can also use the service. They only need to complete the corresponding identification process.

The functionality expands the alternatives available for purchasing foreign currency, as having an account with Banco Industrial is not required.

Foreign Currency Services Available Across Guatemala

Banco Industrial has a network of 37 Multicurrency Branches and 7 Premium Bi Branches located in different parts of the country.

These include branches in Paseo Cayalá, Oakland Mall, Pradera Concepción, Antigua Guatemala, Panajachel, Petén and Quetzaltenango.

The bank also offers foreign currency quotation services through phone calls, WhatsApp, Bi Banking Web and the Bi Banking App, in addition to having 15 currencies available in cash.
