BAM Supports Expo13, Bringing Together 90+ Guatemalan Artists for a Cause

BAM is supporting Fundación Margarita Tejada in Expo13, an art exhibition that brings together more than 90 Guatemalan artists to transform elephant sculptures into unique works of art. The initiative seeks to raise funds for the foundation’s programs focused on education, health, development and inclusion for people with Down syndrome.

The exhibition will be open to the public from July 29 to August 5 at Museo Ixchel, located at 6th Street Final, Zone 10, on the Universidad Francisco Marroquín campus. Admission is free.

Expo13 Transforms Elephant Sculptures Into Art

For Expo13, each participating artist has intervened an elephant sculpture created by Guatemalan sculptor Rodolfo Guevara. The elephant was chosen as a symbol of strength, resilience, hope and community.

The result is a collection of 90 original artworks created by different Guatemalan artists. Beyond showcasing national talent, the exhibition will contribute to strengthening the work carried out by Fundación Margarita Tejada.

“At Bam, we believe that well-being is also built by creating opportunities and promoting a more inclusive society. Supporting Expo13 once again allows us to join forces with Fundación Margarita Tejada and the talent of more than 90 artists,” said Gustavo Sagastume, Brand Manager at Bam.

Expo13 Exhibition Hours and Location

The public can visit Expo13 at Museo Ixchel during the following hours:

• Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Admission: Free

The exhibition gives visitors the opportunity to discover the different interpretations created by the participating artists while supporting the cause behind the initiative.

Artworks Will Be Sold Through a Public Auction

People interested in acquiring one of the pieces can participate in the Expo13 auction.

Each artwork will have a starting price of US$950, with bids increasing in increments of US$50.

The auction will close on July 29 at 8:00 p.m. Once it concludes, the winning bidder for each artwork will be contacted.

Through the exhibition, the auction and the purchase of the displayed artworks, the public can directly contribute to Fundación Margarita Tejada’s programs and help generate greater opportunities for people with Down syndrome.

Expo13 Brings Art and Inclusion Together

Expo13 invites the public to experience how art can become a vehicle for solidarity, inclusion and hope.
