BAC Highlights Five Financial Decisions to Help SMEs Prepare for Growth
BAC highlights five financial decisions to help SMEs strengthen their management, access financing and prepare for growth.
BAC participated in Evolución PYME 2026, where it presented a conference focused on the financial decisions that can help small and medium-sized businesses strengthen their operations and prepare for growth.
During the session, “From SME to a Business Prepared to Grow: The Five Financial Decisions That Accelerate Business Evolution,” the bank highlighted the importance of financial management for companies seeking to move into a new stage of development.
The Financial Challenge Facing SMEs
According to the information presented by BAC, SMEs represent more than 90% of companies in Latin America and generate 70% of formal employment.
However, only 13% have access to formal financing, highlighting the importance of strengthening financial management to facilitate business growth.
Against this backdrop, BAC outlined five decisions that can help SMEs prepare for new opportunities and challenges.
Five Financial Decisions for Business Growth
1. Separate Personal and Business Finances
The first recommendation is to separate personal finances from business finances. This allows companies to better understand their profitability, improve financial control and facilitate access to credit.
2. Manage Cash Flow
The second decision focuses on cash flow management through income and expense planning, payment automation and continuous liquidity monitoring.
3. Use Financing to Drive Growth
BAC also emphasized that financing should be used to support growth projects and take advantage of business opportunities, rather than being used solely to address emergency situations.
4. Plan Financing Needs in Advance
The fourth recommendation is to anticipate financing needs. Planning ahead can help businesses have the tools required to respond to new challenges and opportunities.
5. Digitalize Payments and Collections
Finally, BAC highlighted the importance of digitalizing collection and payment processes to respond to new dynamics in commerce.
In this context, the bank presented Pyme Store BAC, a platform that allows businesses to create and manage an online store while integrating different payment methods. The solution aims to facilitate sales and reduce operational processes.
BAC Highlights Technology as Part of SME Growth
The conference also addressed the role of technology in helping SMEs expand their reach and optimize their operations.
“Our objective is to provide SMEs with a technological, secure and accessible ecosystem that expands their reach, optimizes their operations and allows them to stay one step ahead of their customers’ preferences,” said Juan Maldonado, Vice President of Institutional Relations and Corporate Governance at BAC Guatemala.
Through its participation in Evolución PYME 2026, BAC presented financial management and digital transformation tools and solutions aimed at strengthening small and medium-sized businesses in Guatemala.
