Argentina Promotes Technology Solutions and Business Partnerships in Guatemala

The Agencia local de Exportadores is among the organizations involved in a visit by an Argentine business delegation to Guatemala, where companies and potential local partners will explore opportunities for collaboration across several technology-related industries.

The delegation is visiting knowledge-related spaces and participating in activities with the local Exporters Agency, while its main working day will take place the following day, according to the organizers.

Technology solutions across multiple industries

The meetings are designed to give Guatemalan entrepreneurs, executives, and potential business partners the opportunity to learn about solutions developed by the visiting companies.

The areas represented include:

  • E-commerce
  • Cybersecurity
  • Digital financial services
  • Technology applied to agriculture and healthcare
  • Digital education
  • Communications

The delegation is part of a broader tour that also includes the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica, according to Sebastián Juan Palou, counselor at the Embassy of Argentina in Guatemala, as cited by Prensa Libre.

“We worked for two months to connect the visiting companies with local entrepreneurs and executives,” Palou explained.

The mission includes companies interested in working with both small and medium-sized businesses and larger organizations, as well as entities from the public and private sectors.

Focus on long-term business relationships

The Argentine representation expects the initial meetings to develop into joint projects, commercial partnerships, and new business relationships between companies from both countries.

Technology is among Argentina's relevant activities for generating foreign currency, and Palou highlighted the country's capabilities in areas such as AgTech, FinTech, and retail solutions.

“It is a sector with enormous capacity for innovation and development, with a great deal of talent,” the counselor emphasized.

Another objective of the mission is to identify joint projects with the potential to expand beyond Guatemala and into Central America.

Guatemala as a gateway to regional opportunities

According to Palou, the size of the Guatemalan market has attracted the interest of Argentine companies participating in the mission.

“The size of this market has attracted interest among our entrepreneurs, and the mission can help both countries find complementary opportunities,” he said.

The delegation's meetings are therefore intended to connect Argentine technology companies with local businesses and executives while identifying areas where their capabilities and interests can complement each other.

Spain followed with 14.7%, while Uruguay represented 10.7% and Mexico accounted for 7.7%.
