Pollo Campero Strengthens U.S. Presence with New California Restaurant

Pollo Campero continues to strengthen its footprint in the United States, celebrating a major milestone with the opening of its 150th restaurant, located in Victorville, California. The expansion reflects the brand’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market and its growing connection with both loyal and new customers.

Founded in Guatemala in 1971, Pollo Campero was created with the vision of sharing a unique style of chicken, tender, juicy, and crispy, that has since become a symbol of Guatemalan and Central American gastronomy. The brand began its international journey just one year later, expanding to El Salvador in 1972, and has maintained steady growth ever since, strengthening its presence across Central America and building a robust operation in the United States.

A Strategic Step in Pollo Campero’s U.S. Growth

The Victorville opening represents a key step in Pollo Campero’s long-term growth strategy in the U.S., a market considered essential due to its scale, diversity, and development potential.

Over the years, the brand has positioned itself not only among consumers with a strong emotional connection to Campero, but also among new audiences discovering its flavor for the first time.

This latest milestone follows other significant achievements, including the opening of its 100th U.S. restaurant in Miami Gardens, Florida, in April 2024, marking a steady and disciplined expansion path.

Leadership Perspective on the Milestone

Luis Javier Rodas
Reaching 150 restaurants in the United States reflects Pollo Campero’s long-term growth vision in this market, defined at the leadership level by our President Chairman of CMI Alimentos, Juan José Gutiérrez, and executed with excellence by the Pollo Campero USA team, led by our Global CEO, José Gregorio Baquero,” said Luis Javier Rodas, Managing Director and COO of Pollo Campero USA.“Each new opening is the result of a disciplined operation, a strong focus on service, and a deep respect for the essence of our brand,” Rodas added.

He also highlighted that this achievement is made possible by the dedication and passion of the brand’s collaborators, operators, and local partners, who consistently translate Pollo Campero’s identity into memorable customer experiences across every location.

A Brand Rooted in Heritage and Regional Pride

Since its beginnings, Pollo Campero has been a source of pride for Guatemala and Central America, building a strong emotional bond with consumers through shared moments centered around its signature flavor and service culture. The milestone in the United States honors that heritage and reinforces the brand’s position not only as a gastronomic reference, but also as a cultural symbol that connects communities across borders.

Today, Pollo Campero operates more than 350 restaurants worldwide and employs over 8,000 people. As part of CMI Alimentos, a business unit of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), the brand serves more than 80 million customers annually and continues to expand its presence in markets such as the United States, Mexico, Honduras, Ecuador, and across Central America.

CMI, a family-owned multilatina corporation with over 100 years of history, operates in more than 16 countries and employs over 54,000 people. Through its business groups, CMI Alimentos and CMI Capital, the corporation focuses on generating sustainable economic, social, and environmental impact while delivering excellence across its operations.
