Banco Promerica Expands Support for Education, Environment and Child Welfare Initiatives in Guatemala
Banco Promerica has surpassed Q1 million in contributions through its Puntos Verdes Promerica program, supporting education, environmental conservation and community development initiatives across Guatemala.
Banco Promerica has surpassed Q1 million in cumulative contributions through its Puntos Verdes Promerica initiative, marking a significant milestone in the bank’s efforts to combine customer loyalty with social and environmental impact. The achievement reflects four years of donations generated through the bank’s Jade Credit Card program and reinforces its commitment to sustainable development in Guatemala.
The milestone further positions Puntos Verdes Promerica as a leading example of purpose-driven banking in the country. Through the program, purchases made by Jade Credit Card holders generate points that are converted into annual donations supporting organizations focused on education, environmental conservation, health and community development.
“At Banco Promerica, we believe growth must be accompanied by purpose. Through Puntos Verdes Promerica, we transform our customers’ loyalty into a positive force that promotes social well-being and the regeneration of our environment,” said Vladimir Rubin, Director of Personal Banking at Banco Promerica.
Five Organizations Receive Support in 2026
This year’s donations will benefit five Guatemalan organizations working in areas ranging from environmental protection to education and child development.
Environmental Conservation at Lake Atitlán

One of the beneficiaries is Amigos del Lago de Atitlán, an organization that has worked since 1990 to protect and restore Lake Atitlán.
The donation will help fund the organization’s Youth and Environmental Leadership Diploma Program, providing training for 120 young people in social and environmental entrepreneurship. Resources will also support the planting of 1,000 linear meters of tule reeds along the lake’s shoreline, an initiative aimed at reducing pollution and preserving biodiversity.
Expanding Educational Opportunities Through Asociación Futuro Vivo

Asociación Futuro Vivo, a community-based educational and social organization led by the Carmelite Missionary Teaching Sisters, will use the donation to strengthen literacy programs for 520 students.
For the past 27 years, the organization has provided free education, nutrition, healthcare and family support services to children and adolescents in Guatemala City and Cobán, Alta Verapaz.
The funds will also provide educational materials, transportation for 150 students traveling from rural communities to the educational center in Samac, Alta Verapaz, and oral healthcare services for at least 25 adolescents.
Supporting Entrepreneurship and Financial Education

Another beneficiary is Junior Achievement Guatemala, an educational foundation with more than 38 years of experience preparing young people for the workforce, fostering entrepreneurship and promoting financial literacy.
The contribution will strengthen several of its flagship programs, including Domino Mis Cuentas, Socios por un Día, Visitando un Gerente and Yo Emprendo x Guate, reaching thousands of young Guatemalans across the country.
Investing in Nutrition and Early Childhood Development

Fundación Puente, which focuses on preventing chronic childhood malnutrition and promoting early childhood development in rural communities, will direct the donated resources toward the implementation of family gardens and poultry projects.
These initiatives are designed to improve nutrition while creating more sustainable living conditions for participating families.
Strengthening Health and Well-Being for Vulnerable Children

Valle de los Ángeles, a home guided by Franciscan values that provides comprehensive care to 186 children living in vulnerable situations, is also among the organizations receiving support.
The institution offers education, nutrition, healthcare, psychological services and vocational training. The donation will specifically reinforce its health and psychology programs, contributing to the overall well-being and development of the children under its care.
Reinforcing a Commitment to Responsible Banking
With this latest round of donations, Banco Promerica continues to strengthen its vision of responsible banking by supporting organizations that address some of Guatemala’s most pressing social and environmental challenges.
By working alongside nonprofit organizations and community leaders, the bank seeks to demonstrate how strategic partnerships can generate meaningful and measurable impact. Through Puntos Verdes Promerica, customer participation becomes part of a broader effort to create opportunities, improve quality of life and contribute to a more sustainable future for communities across Guatemala.
