Alorica, one of the largest BPO employers in Guatemala, continues to drive economic growth while supporting thousands of local professionals. The company provides services to U.S. and multinational clients across telecommunications, energy, and retail sectors, establishing itself as a key player in the country’s labor market.

Economic Impact and Job Creation

Over the past five years, Alorica has invested more than USD 450 million in payroll and infrastructure. Its annual payroll currently reaches USD 70 million, with expectations to hit USD 80 million by 2025.

We generate direct employment for 5,000 Guatemalans and continue to grow with the firm goal of strengthening the country’s economic and social development,” said José Ramírez, Regional President of Operations for Latin America and the Caribbean at Alorica.

Since 2022, the company has created over 13,753 jobs, actively participating in job fairs and collaborating with educational institutions to attract and train new talent, offering real career opportunities for young professionals.

Talent Development and Career Growth

Alorica’s success relies on a culture focused on employee development. Programs such as Step Up and New to Position, offered through its global Alorica University, promote leadership and professional advancement.

Between January and July 2025, more than 300 Guatemalan employees were promoted to positions in Operations, Human Resources, and Administration. In 2024, over 200 employees advanced, and 30% of all promotions in Latin America occurred in Guatemala.

Additionally, partnerships with institutions like Aden International Business School provide courses, certifications, and scholarships for employees and their families. High employee satisfaction reflects these efforts: Alorica Guatemala has consistently scored above 90% in global employee surveys over the past three years and has been certified as Great Place to Work® for four consecutive years.

The company also offers training for candidates without prior experience, equipping them with the skills needed for long-term career growth.

Community Engagement and Sustainability

Beyond business, Alorica promotes social responsibility through its nonprofit Making Lives Better with Alorica (MLBA). In Guatemala, MLBA has organized back-to-school campaigns, distributed backpacks and desks to children in need, supported institutions like AYUVI and Inclulab, and assisted over 500 families affected by natural disasters.

Alorica also drives environmental initiatives, including planting 300 trees in partnership with the National Forestry Institute, building eco-friendly stoves in rural communities, eliminating single-use plastics, and recycling over 1,200 kilograms of paper in 2024, funding pediatric cancer treatments.

A Global Company with a Guatemalan Heart

With over 100,000 employees in 17 countries and serving more than 250 global clients in over 75 languages, Alorica generates USD 2 billion in revenue. In Latin America and the Caribbean, it employs 21,000 people across nine countries, with Guatemala as one of the region’s key pillars.

Guatemala has exceptional talent. Our growth in the country reflects the quality, commitment, and passion of Guatemalans in delivering extraordinary experiences globally,” concluded Ramírez.
