The 2026 call is part of the University Scholarship Program led by Fundación Juan Bautista Gutiérrez, the social arm of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI). With 27 years of experience, this scholarship program in Guatemala has transformed the lives of 591 Guatemalan students, marking a lasting impact on their personal and professional development.

The initiative is designed to give high-achieving students access to quality higher education and the chance to turn their goals into professional achievements. As the foundation emphasizes, each scholarship represents an opportunity to turn limitations into possibilities and dreams into a life project.

What does the scholarship include?

The program offers a comprehensive support system covering multiple aspects of university life. The scholarship includes:

  • Full tuition and monthly payments throughout the degree
  • Monthly stipend for personal expenses
  • Annual allowance for books
  • English leveling, if required
  • Workshops and continuous coaching for academic and personal growth

2026 call: key dates and application process

The 2026 application period runs from March 2 to April 30. Interested students can apply digitally at becas.fundacionjbg.org.

This year, 50 new students will be selected to join the scholarship community and begin their studies fully supported by the program.

Applicants must meet specific criteria:

  • Be in the final year of high school
  • Have a minimum cumulative average of 85 points since third year of secondary school
  • Demonstrate limited financial resources
  • Show commitment and determination to transform their future

One of the most inspiring examples comes from María Teresa Solares Beteta, a former scholarship recipient. María Teresa described receiving the scholarship as a dream come true. At the time of her scholarship, she was in her fourth year of Industrial Engineering, maintaining excellent academic performance while actively participating in volunteer and community projects. Her story demonstrates how the Juan Bautista Gutiérrez scholarship program in Guatemala provides not only financial support but also the guidance and opportunities needed to become a community leader.

Over the years, the program has benefited 227 women and 364 men, many of whom are now professionals or continuing their higher education.
