Pradera, part of Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), is taking concrete steps toward sustainability with a large-scale reforestation project in Chimaltenango. The effort is part of the national Sembrando Huella program by INAB, which promotes forest conservation and restoration across Guatemala.
Planting Over 1,400 Trees to Restore Ecosystems
More than 50 participants, including Pradera employees, commercial partners, and INAB representatives, came together to plant over 1,400 alder and cypress trees.
These species play a key role in carbon capture, restoring local ecosystems, and strengthening water recharge areas, actions that help combat climate change while revitalizing the region’s natural resources.
"At Pradera, sustainable transformation is at the heart of everything we do," said Mónica Covarrubias, Director of Real Estate Operations at CMI Capital. "Every tree we plant reflects our commitment to long-term value, both for the environment and the communities we serve."
Reinforcing Guatemala’s Forest Culture

The reforestation aligns with Pradera’s support of Sembrando Huella, which has contributed to recovering thousands of hectares nationwide. According to INAB, each tree can absorb up to 22 kg of CO₂ annually, making these actions a tangible contribution to reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmental stewardship.
Elmer Antonio Álvarez Castillo, INAB Regional Director for Chimaltenango and Sacatepéquez, added:
"Partnerships like this are essential for restoring forests and ensuring sustainable management of natural resources for future generations."
A Commitment to Sustainability and Community
By investing in projects like this, Pradera CMI demonstrates its dedication to environmental responsibility and community well-being. The initiative highlights the company’s strategy of combining ecological impact with social responsibility, inspiring others to participate in preserving Guatemala’s natural heritage.
