Guatemala continues to deepen its international relations with South Korea, reaffirming its commitment to cooperation, peace, and prosperity through high-level diplomatic and trade engagements.

Ambassador Sara Solís Attends Foreign Policy Conference

Guatemala’s Ambassador to South Korea, Sara Solís, recently participated in a conference led by South Korean Foreign Minister, Cho Hyun. The event, organized by the Korea National Diplomatic Academy, highlighted the priorities of South Korea’s new foreign policy, with an emphasis on international cooperation, peace, and shared prosperity.

During the session, Ambassador Solís conveyed a message of courtesy on behalf of Guatemala’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Carlos Ramiro Martínez Alvarado. She reaffirmed Guatemala’s commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Bilateral Trade Talks with Korea’s Minister of Trade

In a separate engagement, Ambassador Solís met with South Korea’s Minister of Trade, Yeo Han-Koo, in the framework of GRULAC (Group of Latin American and Caribbean Countries). The discussions centered on key issues of the bilateral relationship, particularly trade and economic cooperation.

Both parties underscored the importance of ratifying the SICA–Korea Free Trade Agreement and highlighted the potential for future trade missions aimed at boosting economic ties.

Guatemala Reaffirms Its Diplomatic Commitment

Through these activities, the Government of Guatemala, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reinforced its dedication to diplomacy as a tool to strengthen partnerships with allied nations.

Ambassador Solís emphasized that Guatemala is ready to continue advancing cooperation and trade with South Korea, building on a foundation of shared values and mutual development.
